A new Mercedes-AMG GT C is on the cards, as is the expansion of the E-Class portfolio.
Mercedes-Benz has been on the offensive since last year. It launched 15 new models in the year 2015 and is geared up to introduce 12 fresh offering in India this year. In fact, the German carmaker has been aggressive with its launch strategy, not only in India but across the globe.
Now, a document, leaked online post an internal summit of Mercedes-Benz's financial results for the current year, has revealed that Merc is set to bring in nine new models in 2017. Besides the Mercedes models, two all-new models of Smart will also make their international debut next year. The document further reveals that the Mercedes-AMG GT R will be launched in the first half of 2017 while the GT C will make its way in the second half of next year.
However, whether the GT C will be a soft top version of the GT R or a compact iteration of the GT is still not clear. Apart from the GT C, an updated Mercedes E-Class Coupe and the GLA will also be introduced. Interestingly, the GLA is referred to as a coupe in the document.
